It is often around this time of year that many of us don our rubber gloves and get to work on making the home look fantastic. While, on one level, such a thing can seem like nothing more than a chore, the truth is that there are plenty of ways to improve your spring cleaning – in both effectiveness and use of your time. In this post, we are going to take you through a few basic, but extremely effective, cleaning hacks. Bear these in mind next time you are giving the home a once-over.
Dusting With A Lint Roller
How many of us have a lint roller sitting unused in a drawer somewhere? For most people, these only come out for special occasions – when that suit or dress needs to really look its best. But the truth is, a lint roller is just as effective for dusting around the home, too. No matter how bad the dust gets, using a lint roller is sure to clean it up in no time – and not just move it around, as it often seems you are doing with other cleaning methods. Seriously, give this one a go – you won’t be disappointed.
The Power Of Vinegar
If you have never used vinegar for cleaning before, then you are missing out on something surprisingly powerful. The fact is, vinegar can be used for a variety of cleaning operations around the home, and you might be surprised at just how effective it can be. If you clean with apple cider vinegar, you can much more easily see some dazzling effects – particularly when it comes to removing annoying stickers, cleaning scissors and many other uses. Take a look at what cleaning with vinegar can do, and you might be pleasantly surprised.
Cleaning The Cleaning Materials
This is something that any houseproud individual will know the importance of. What about when it comes to cleaning the cleaning materials themselves? It can sometimes seem like there is no solution to this, but that is by no means the case. If you are looking for a way to clean your sponge, then there is actually a method which works very well. All you need to do is to put it in the microwave for around 30 seconds (not too much longer!) and your sponge will have no bacteria left on it. But be careful when you remove it, as it will of course be hot. An alternative solution to the same problem is to put it in the dishwasher instead, although this is not quite as effective.
Bright Laundry In A Flash
If you are always on the lookout for ways to improve the look of your laundry, then here is one tip which you won’t want to ignore. Just add a couple of spoonfuls of baking soda into the wash, along with the usual detergent and softener, and you will be amazed at what a difference it makes to your clothes! This is so easy, and yet the results are so incredible to behold.
