Let’s face facts: no one wants to spend all their time cleaning their home. Of course, there are some people who claim that they enjoy cleaning, as they find it therapeutic. But even these people would probably agree that it’s not something they would want to do 24/7. We all have busy lives, whether it’s to do with balancing our work and our personal lives or wanting to invest our time in something special, like traveling. You may want your home to look spotless, but not at the expense of you enjoy all the other things in life. That being said, a home has to be cleaned regularly, as they go through a lot. Daily cooking activities, messy children and the everyday wear and tear can all mean that ultimately, we do need to keep on top of our cleaning game. However, that absolutely does not mean that you need to spend hours every day primping and priming your home. Here are some ways that you can clean your home quickly and efficiently.

Put a ‘mess box’ in each room
With young children around, you probably find various items scattered about the home at any given time. The toothbrush in the living room, their toys in the kitchen… after a while, nothing will surprise you any more! But picking up each of these items one by one to go and put back in their place can take up a lot of time, especially if you have a big house. To avoid this, simply put a basket or a box in each room that is where any mess should go (note, not trash: make sure your family know that this is different from a bin). That way you can put any excess mess in the box all at once and can carry it around the house with you while you put it all back.
Upgrade your cleaning equipment
They say that cleaning is a pretty good workout – and it sure can be, when you are dealing with lumpy, heavy pieces of cleaning kit! Even though it saves on you having to go to the gym (sometimes), using such bulky, non-functional equipment to clean you home with means that sometimes even the most simple jobs can take an age. A prime example of this is the vacuum cleaner, which tends to be heavy, bulky and linked to the wall. By investing in the best cordless vacuum instead, you can move the equipment around with ease, without having to be tethered to a wall any longer.

Clean as you go
This one may sound obvious. But, if you have guests over regularly, or if you feel stressed whenever your home gets dirty or messy, cleaning as you go can end up saving you a lot of time in the long run. It doesn’t need to be anything major – simple things such as having some surface wipes in your kitchen to use after cooking can save a weekly build up of grime and dirt. 10 minutes of cleaning every day can easily save you losing a whole afternoon to chores at the weekend, so it’s totally worth it.
